Comments Thread For: Derevyanchenko's Coach Confident They Can Shock Canelo

New York trainer Andre Rozier has given his take on the much talked about clash between Derevyanchenko and pound for pound superstar 'Canelo' Alvarez. Derevyanchenko was inserted as mandatory challenger to Alvarez' IBF world middleweight title, and both camps are in the process of negotiating a clash between the former Ukrainian amateur standout and the Mexican superstar. Rozier, who is no stranger to the threat of Alvarez weighed in on a potential clash between the pair.

This guy is essentially a slower, weaker GGG. The biggest difference between him and triple G is that this guy doesn’t move his head, while Golovkin doesn’t move it as much as he used to, he still has some head movement. I see Canelo picking tho guy apart, brutally.

It's going to the cards it's not going to be a one sided fight

That’s what they all say but if you can’t get a KO you stand zero chance of winning. Seems like all the guys fighting him are to shook by the event itself.

Derveryanchenko is honestly better than GGG at this point.

Props to Canelo for stepping up

Fights I'd prefer instead of this one (in the weight divisions where Canelo has titles) at mw - charlo, andrade and ggg. At smw - callum smith, caleb plant, benavidez, Saunders and bivol since he said he'd drop to 168 for Canelo. So whether it's dazns fault or Canelo /golden boy, this is not the option that any fan should be most excited about.

This dude legit lost to culcay. He’s betting canelo? Na. It’s a obvious fielding fight for canelo. This dervy guy is really overrated on this forum.

Do they have a "sarcastic applaude" emoji here? Should fit well here. No, seriously, good one. Dervy will hardly win 2 rounds. Even with the judges, who are not named "Byrd".

The Culcay fight was close. Did Sergiy lose? I don't believe so. Comparing him to Fielding is unfair. Is he in the same league as Canelo? He has only has 14 pro fights. This may be better than some think!

It will be a good fight for as long as canelo whips him up. The skill/ age gap is a bit ridiculous. I’ve watched this guy several times and this forum has grossly overrated him. Plus he looked awful against Jacobs. To say he’s next to canelo is almost funny. He will get beat up. Especially to the body. His defense is very irresponsible and he follows all his shots with overreaches. I’m not thrilled by this match up.
