Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz To Participate In Children's Hospital Fundraiser

Luis Ortiz is still awaiting word on an official date for his rematch with Deontay Wilder. Meanwhile, there remains a far more important fight in his future and everyday life. The top-rated heavyweight contender will be the guest of honor at a meet-and-greet Wednesday evening in Hollywood, Fla., less than an hour from his Miami hometown. The event-which takes place at Toyota of Hollywood courtesy of company CEO and longtime Ortiz friend Craig Zinn-will double as a fundraiser to raise awareness and support for locally-based Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.

He sure could have been donating some of the career-high $7M he was offered to fight Joshua instead of not even having an official date yet for Wilder...

            Some people....

Maybe he wanted to avenge his only loss more than fight Joshua?

Maybe that has nothing to do with the charity he is supporting in this story?

I actually thought they announced Ortiz' daughter had a treatment that was working for her? I truly hope so. That sounds like a horrid disease and a challenging way to endure life. No human should have to go through, much less a child.

If it was up to uk fans and those bucket of thugs(EH, AJ, DW and TF) this guy would be broke and destitute and his daughter would never get the help she needed!

Thank you Wilder for allowing Ortiz to not only fight in the ring but also outside of the ring!
