Lol obviously given that some folks on here were calling him a star, this is absolutely horrific.
But honestly, he was never a star. Never popular or that watched by boxing fans.
So this isn't terrible given that context.Comment

Wow. Straight bias. If you know anything about this generation, you know that popularity is based on social media. Business models for athletes and artists are now built around followings. He has a great following. Put him in the ring with a big name and the victory and he’ll take off. For a kid that has literally faced no one with a name, he’s doing way above what he’s supposed to be doing. Why do you think he’s being guided carefully? I’ll bring this post back up when he’s surpassed Loma.
Get the hate out your life and consume love. Only then will you be able to live in reality.Last edited by Punch on Tap; 07-30-2019, 11:11 AM.Comment

Once again, the numbers are not absolutely terrible (as people here are saying) given the right context. Because as you said, he is just a kid who has faced no one with a name.
So give him a break. He's not a star, and the more we call him one, the more he won't meet expectations.Comment

I hear you. I’m not biased to any boxer that steps in that ring. But there are some that are special and have star power. I consider Davis one because of his following without piggybacking off of a big name (not yet).Crisis management, eh?

In my circle of friends, male and female. No one has even heard of Loma who is P4P #1 or 2.
They all have heard of Davis or seen his interviews. The females know him for his relationship with his gf and his connection to hip hop artists.
Let’s not forget what culture/community dictates fashion, music, and lifestyle. It’s hip hop. Worldwide. Tank has all that including his boxing talents.
So I hear you but you have to be connected to the reality of what’s actually happening and not just this forum.Last edited by Punch on Tap; 07-30-2019, 11:37 AM.Comment

Yeah but you also have to be willing to fight good fighters to get to PPV star level.I hear you. I’m not biased to any boxer that steps in that ring. He cried on twitter and said “they’re trying to get me beat” about his promoters when they talked about him fighting Lomachenko.
So yeah, you have to be able to do it in and out of the ring, but we saw what he was all about when his bluff was called about fighting an elite fighter.
I think he’s a good fighter but he needs to step it up instead of fighting weak opponents. He isn’t a kid, nearly 25. A lot of featherweights/lightweights are usually done by 30, they fade much quicker than bigger fighters. It’s time to fight good fighters from now on.Comment

For Showtime, that is as good of a rating as you will get now to be honest
Again Boxing is not popular or important enough to still have on a Premium Network! NO other sport does this besides boxing and they wonder why it is so hard to build new superstars
If PPV is next for Tank then they should've put him on Fox
UFC, Cyborg fight as well as Max Holloway vs Frankie Edger got more attention on social media than the 2 Boxing Events CombinedComment

You didn't ask me about the show. You asked me if "the star" (Tank) would average 500k. He did. Who cares about what the others did. People tuned in to see TankComment
