Comments Thread For: Bisping: UFC Will Not Allow Khabib To Box Floyd Mayweather

A blockbuster cross-sport bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Khabib Nurmagomedov is unlikely to happen, according to Michael Bisping. Mayweather - who defeated UFC superstar Conor McGregor in 10 rounds in 2017 - and Nurmagomedov have continually talked up the possibility of facing off, with the latter having beaten McGregor in the Irishman's most recent UFC appearance last October.

Of course not, it would be ****** to allow the fight to happen. Khabib would be completely out of his depth

Make it happen with the small UFC gloves and boxing rules. At least one step towards making it fairer

It still wouldnt be fair because its boxing rules, Khabib is a wrestler with no boxing experience. His striking is his weakest attribute. In fact even in the UFC Khabib's stand up is considered raw.

When’s the last time Floyd talked about khabib? It was khabib and his manager who was doing all the talking anyway

A one off thing like Mayweather-Mcgregor was fine due to the revenue generated, but the UFC having the top guys going over to boxing and losing regularly would be damaging to the brand at some point.

Khabib can't fight standing up well at all. That's a fight that shouldn't be sanctioned ever.

Maybe but all Floyd did to beat that kickboxer guy was put his gloves up and walk forward. Takes away a big element of defence from Floyd.

When McGreggor had those big gloves on he had no power. With those small UFC gloves you can throw faster shots that are still concussive so I think it would make a bigger difference than you might expect.

Plus Floyd wouldn't take the fight if it was fair. He needs to have an advantage. He is bringing all the money

You hate Floyd THAT much dude? You would throw money just to see the man hurt?

I'm going to quote a rap lyric : don't sag too hard. You'll show everybody your thong.
