Do you think Gatti could drop down in weight and still contend?

It seemed that Baldy was just too physically strong for Gatti. I know Arturo has lost a lot through all the wars, but I wonder if could he could have success at a lighter weight again? Mayweather is now at 147 so that is a plus for him. Its obvious that Arturo isnt big enough for the welters or quick enough for someone like PBF,but could he hang with the others at 135 or 140? This is probably wishful thinking, but I wonder if his power at the lighter weight could make him competitive ? I have always admired his courage and heart and wonder if its possible.Gatti haters dont need to flame this.Im just wondering.

He should have stayed at 140. With everyone leaving, he could have gotten a title.

His trouble getting down to 135 and 140 is why he moved up in the first place. He started fighting at 126. Anyway, he's finished. He has taken too much punishment.

Hes done. He can't make 140 anymore, and he can't hang with the speed or size of just about every fighter in the welter division. The difference between him and Floyd moving up is that Floyd is an excellent boxer, so the power advantage doesnt really matter as much right now. 154 might be different though...

I think that at any weight at this point in Gatti's career he still takes way too much punishment. As the boxing clique goes.."he's(Gatti)gone to the well too many times and now it is dry!" He should call it a career while he still has all his marbles.

Yeah. Because that is what "warriors" do. Drain yourself of weight so that you can fight smaller men in the hopes that you get a title.
