This. The fight will be televised by ESPN(+) and not by DAZN in the US.

Cheerleading the network or promoter is one of the most odd things to me in boxing.
If you think that DAZN is doing a good job of making the best fights then it should be concerning that they might be being driven out of business, surely?

This was no loss. Maurice Hooker isn't no big time star or anything. Just a good solid fighter and we got one of the best fights of the year. No way was this a loss for DAZN.

There are other valid things to point to, but to point tonight as a loss for DAZN? Hilarious.

Well, Hooker is signed with Eddie Hearn. If he had won tonight he would have had two belts that they could feature on DAZN.

Instead those two belts will be going to a DAZN rival.

Yeah. Hearn should protect those titles instead and give us mismatches like PBC does all the damn time.

Thank you DAZN. With Andy blasting out your boy Joshua and now Hooker getting destroyed, and Canelo beating Jacobs on your network, taking Ws and Ls...you earned my money and will be subbing again next year and paying out the year...again.

Please keep taking my money if this is how your network is going to be every year.

That's fine, but once again this was no loss. The fight was great and that's all that matters. DAZN could lock up Prograis and/or Taylor after the WBSS.

What this could be a potential loss at is that it probably eliminates them from getting Mikey Garcia. What fight do they have for Garcia at 140 or 147? Only way DAZN makes sense for Garcia now is if DAZN does end up locking up the WBSS winner.

As I said, if people like what they're getting from DAZN then it should be a concern if it's getting outmaneuvered by rivals.

This isn't a network fanboy argument. I paid for a year's subscription myself.

Was it them getting outmaneuvered or just making the best fight possible between two top 140 pounders who were not in the WBSS tourney?

Again, there are things to criticize DAZN for, but this fight is not one of them. Hooker was going to lose his belt soon regardless. He was a loss waiting to happen.
