It doesn't really matter whether Baldomir is just waiting to be taken out, or that his footwork is bad - last night he and Gatti really entertained me a great deal. I put it in my three fights of the year so far, only one of which features a boxer that's in The Ring's P4P:

    Lamon Brewster vs. Surging Lyncanthropy
    Joe Blow vs. Jeff Lacy
    Gatti vs. Baldomir

Regardless of what he has or may achieve, Baldomir has consolidated his reputation for me as a fighter I'd pay to see. There's nothing special or pretty about him (though he's got a great chin, and you'd better pray you don't run out of steam against him) but anyone who gave us the Judah spaghetti leg dance in January has to be worthy of our respect.

    Great show.
Good point and good post. In the end, it's about...would you pay to see them again. That's the reason Gatti's still near the top of the tax brackett after having his ass publicly spanked on more than one occasion. You know he's never gonna give up; and people love that....now, Baldomir. Kudos to Carlos for doing it yet again when no one outside of Argentina...*ahem* and myself, and a few others...thought he could do it.

i tend to agree with you about baldomir. he does nothing exceptionally well but he just keeps on plugging forward and takes the fight to his man. i enjoy his style because he is not fighting to merely survive, he fights to win - and to win big.

i do disagree with you about gatti. he has been protected for years upon years. the fight with mayweather and now baldomir was just so darn easy to pick. it reminds me off ron standers wife saying stander against frazier was like entering a volkswagon bug in the indy 500. well, stander had a better shot against frazier than gatti has against mayweather. not because mayweather is as good as his fans think but because gatti is so bad and always has been. damn fun to watch when matched right (protected) but easy to beat when he steps up.
