Pac’s win over Thurman best of any 40+ year old fighter

Some notable performances were Hopkins over Tarver, Pavlik and Wright. Pascal if you really want to count him. Archie Moore over Yvonne Durrelle, Foreman over Moorer. As great as Duran was, he never had a signature win after the age of 40. I would argue Pac’s win over Thurman and all else considered to be at the top for 40+ fighters.

Pacquiao beating the 3rd best WW is better than Hopkins beating top 10 P4P fighters? On what planet exactly?

Thurman was undefeated and beat two of the top five welterweights. He was the top WW in the division and certainly the most proven. Hopkins beat an overrated Tarver, a blown up 154 pounder, and overrated Pavlik. PAC was the smaller, older more **** fighter and puts on a clinic at 40, not even close.

Thurman was viewed as the 3rd best WW by almost everyone and looked like **** in his fight back from injury. Was a good win nothing more.

Who has Spence and Crawford beat to elevate them above Thurman?

Hopkins SKIPPED a weight class, going from 160-175 and beat the LHW champion. 160-168 is the BIGGEST jump in boxing and he went even further than that.

I don't know about Crawford, but Spence beat Kell Brook who at that time would have easily beat Danny Garcia, and had already beat Shawn Porter.

I'm not sure why people rate Thurman's win over Garcia so highly. Garcia has accomplished NOTHING at 147.

                  Probably, better than Hopkins's wins.

He was facing an undefeated fighter in his prime.

A natural welterweight, Pacquiao being a former flyweight.

Thurman probably had a 14lbs weight advantage in the ring, height advantage, reach advantage.

Thurman who has been tried and tested champ who beat other champs and claimed multiple belts

And Pacquiao won in style, out working, out boxing, getting the KO, pressing the action coming on strong in the later rounds.

Will have to look through the history books but he has a very good case.

Not to mention his best wins were almost 3 years ago.
