Dillian Whyte Tests Positive For Banned Substance

Multiple sources have confirmed that an "A" sample taken from Dillian Whyte tested positive for one or more banned substances prior to Whyte's July 20 fight in London against Oscar Rivas. Although Whyte is in the World Boxing Council Clean Boxing Program which is administered by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA), the test in question was administered by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD).

That's kinda fucked up. I can understand the dilemma... due process is necessary and they shouldn't penalise a dude if he might still be innocent, but in a sport where a fighters health (or indeed life) might be at stake the opponent should be given that information and given the option to withdraw without penalty pending further investigation.

'Course, this is boxing though, possibly the shadiest and most poorly run major sport on the planet, so...

Remember when Rivas was supposed to fight Washington/or someone of that ilk a few years back and was denied a license due to his eyesight/eye problems, he couldnt box for a couple of years i think due to that injury, and his eye was closed shut in the whyte fight and could STILL be badly damaged.

I think Rivas and his team are calling the lawyers to sue whyte and hearn for everything they have as we speak and good luck to them.
