I can’t think of any “great” father and son fighters right now. You have the following but none of these pairs were considered both great fighters. In no particular order.

      1. Julio Cesar and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
      2. Floyd and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
      3. Floyd and Tracy-Harris Patterson
      4. Wilfredo and Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.
      5. Joe and Marvis Frazier
      6. Hector and Hector Camacho Jr.
      7. Shane Mosley and Shane Mosley Jr.
      8. Lenny and Ray Mancini
      9. Chris and Chris Eubank Jr.
      10. Leon and Cory Spinks
You left out the man, who for one night only perhaps, might have beaten every HW boxer who ever lived: James Buster Douglas.

His Dad was a pretty good MW IIRC.

Not much of an amateur career...4 fights-2W-2L. Hard to see him going anywhere.

Yea I saw the ESPN documentary 30 for 30 and initially learned about Buster’s dad. But like you said, his dad was good but not great.

Actually, I would say Floyd and Tracy Patterson was the best father and son duo. Because after Tracy Harris was adopted in 1979 by Floyd Patterson he went on to win the WBC Super Bantamweight Belt in 1992. Then Tracy went 63-8-2 with 43 Kos from 1985 to 2001, defended his title four times and later added the IBF Super Featherweight Championship. And we already know Floyd was a world HW champion.

Would be funny if Holyfield named all 42 of his kids Evander or some version thereof like George Foreman did.

I would go with the Spinks. Leon scored the huge win over Ali to become heavyweight champ. Cory undisputed champ at 147, two time titlist at 154, almost beat Jermain Taylor for lineal title at 160. Throw in Michael and it's a pretty impressive family.

I was thinking along your lines about the Spinks Family. I was thinking Tracy had a better career than Cory overall. And Floyd had a better career than Leon. But you can’t argue with beating the greatest of all time, Ali.
