I dont know who that is. But im sure Deontay will take what ever form of killing he gets, as long as he kills somebody. Which is hella cool if you are Curtis Harper. Hes not happy enough that it does happen in this sport, he WANTS IT TO HAPPEN MORE.

      The bold....read that before.

      This thread is ******
Boxing is an extremely dangerous sport
      Boxers know this
A person is usually trying to hurt his opponent really bad.
When they send an opponent flopping to the canvas or through the ropes, THEY CELEBRATE !!! THE CROWD CHEERS !!!!

And you care about a fighter saying something ?!?!?

      It's been fun, though.

Before the fight of the century, Frazier prayed to God to let him kill Ali.

Do you want Frazier removed from the Hall of Fame ?

This is the very nature of the sport for better or for worse.

This is the dumbest and weakest argument I've ever seen about boxing.

For those of you with weak constitutions, you would do well to remember that boxing is a combat sport. I'll break it down for you.

Two people get into a ring. They then try to punch each other as hard as they can. The one who hit the other guy more/better wins the fight. Then you have to consider exposure/money which peaks the highest when you knock the other guy to sleep, which would give you even more of an incentive to hit the other guy like really hard.

And do you think a sport like this would attract nice people who say nice things?

I get that people are trying to make combat sports (all of them) more cool and accessible for everyone, but honestly, it shouldn't be. It's a sport for people who are willing to sacrifice their body, because that's what this sport is. Brain damage is a not only a possibility, it's pretty much a guarantee. And I'm not too excited to send our youth into this hard hard sport if they could have other options available to them.

And killing someone with your fists has less to do with you, and more to do with the guy catching your fists. So you can want to kill someone in the ring, but at the end of the day there are rules and regulations and there's a referee, a doctor or a trainer who can stop the fight at any time.

Even with all that, you are still guaranteed to get hurt badly. Why? Because it's a combat sport! The severity of it will vary case by case, but no one fights professionally and gets out unscathed. It's a pipe dream you flower folk need to let go of.

I'm actually glad Deontay Wilder says that he wants to kill someone in the ring, because people need to wake the fck up and realize this sport is dangerous.

People who act like boxing is a fun time for the family, those people are the real problem.

I see both sides of it. My old man reminded me that Wilder also honestly explained that boxing is a violent sport where to win u try to hurt the other guy. There’s the way the things are and the way things should be. Look how many people, things, platforms have been “cancelled” by the side that doesn’t agree with it. Doesn’t mean it’s right but it doesn’t stop sponsors from pulling away. I mean look at mma/bare knuckle, why isn’t it allowed everywhere? Wilder can say what he wants but it’s not classy and boxing fans cringe because it doesn’t help the sport. Why not allow gladiator fights? Why referees? The point is I don’t think fans want to see deaths. Fans are protective of boxers. Wilder may be honest in what he says and he should have a right to say it. But I don’t think it does the sport any favours. He hasent come close to killing anyone in the ring so maybe he’s delusional? He brags about wanting to kill someone, but who knows how he would feel if he actually did? Remember when I killed that guy and ruined his family? Is that going to be his favourite story? Has he talked to anyone who has killed someone in the ring? If people died all the time the sport would be cancelled. If everyone hoped to kill someone and they got their wish boxing would be done. So that’s selfish on his part. His ego before all else. It’s not like hes gonna call himself out if he never does kill someone. I just don’t want this sport taken away from us. Unify the titles then make killing someone in the ring ur goal at least.

There are better ways of making people wake up to the fact that this is a dangerous than having Deontay Wilder claiming he wants to kill people.

Dont get me wrong, i get your point and im not on the side of banning Wilder, its his call and his right if he wants to say what he says. But i cant see how thats a good look for Wilder and how it does the sport any good. Maybe im missing the point but whats good about a Boxer dying? Nothing, its terrible so how good can it be for a Boxer to say he wants that to happen to somebody.

It was reckless talk by Wilder.

But he’s not a clever guy. Unless you censored him completely he’s likely to say something ******

Wilders problem is his mouth is 5 seconds ahead of his brain, and let's face it, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Spot on. I feel when a person is ''passionate'' about his career, they will say how much they are willing to do whatever it takes, legally, to succeed.

DW's career choice is a violent one. It can literally mean someone can die. If a boxer is going to die, I don't blame a guy wanting it to be the other guy.

''If someone is going to die in the ring, it ain't gonna be me. How do I prevent getting killed in the ring ??? Kill that other mf'er 1st !!!''

I mean, really. Does a guy swinging for the bleechers need to say he wants to kill a person ?!?!?!?
