Did Thurman underestimate Pac's boxing skills?

The lead up to the fight Thurman always talked about how Pac is a fighter not a boxer. He thought he had the better skills ad fight iq. I really dont think he understood Pac at all if he really thought that. Pac's iq, probes, faints and traps he sets.

There is a proven formula to beat Manny and it's not to walk him down, that is a tough road to take, when you walk into his wheel house, he just unloads combinations and steps around you.

Marquez, Mayweather, Mosley, all nullified him for long periods by consistently moving away from the left and and making him reach without running. Those are the tactics to beat him, mixed with sporadic aggression.

Mosley was too old to build on the defensive part, Marquez obviously did well in all the fights, but him and Manny are similar in size and ability so they are close. Floyd won clearly because of his dimensions and ability.

Thurman fought the right fight for 2 mins, got floored and his game plan went out the window. He still toughed it out, and made a good fight, but imo he had the wrong tactics.

in the 2nd half of the fight where thurman was moving more and picking his shots, that's how he should have fought manny from the start. but he got too big for his own head and wanted to prove that he's the better/stronger fighter. we've all seen this played out before. bigger fighter goes in trying to bully manny then gets clipped.
