As far as weight, he fought ODLH and Cotto @ 154, and no one cares, but Pac fights ODLH @ 147, and Cotto @ 145, and everyone is amazed! Double standard! He fights Canelo @ 152, and it's a problem, but Manny can fight Margarito @ 150, and again, it's incredible!
They were amazed because Pac is a tiny little dude and the way he fked them up. Floyd cruises to unanimous victories while Pac overwhelmed them. That's all it was. If Pac won boring decisions, there wouldn't have been all that hype.

Comes down to the fighting styles of the guys. I always thought Mayweather would beat Pac but I'd choose to watch Pac or Mayweather 10 times out of 10 because of the way he fought.

Ali I'm sure was hated by many and adored by his fans as well for his personality. That was a little before my time so I don't know.

It is what it is, theres always haters and fans of any athlete that reach the levels of Pac or May.
My point is there will always be some level of disconnect when you take everything one guy says literally, while taking everything the other guy says figuratively.

Let's just have the same standard for each so everything is even.

Well it's tough to give the guy the benefit of the doubt when he's said things in the past then done the opposite. He's said he's retired a handful of times and came back already. I'm not gonna be the least bit shocked when he comes back for that paycheck next either and I don't blame him one bit. Pac winning that fight Saturday just added zeroes to the paycheck if he decided to do it.

Plausible. I think we all knew the other retirements were gimmicks given his age, health, and fact he continued to train regularly.

I think we all realize at 42, after the way he looked against Conor and Tenshin, the fact he now promotes other fighters and doesn't appear to be in fighting shape or training regularly that retirement is more a reality, even if he does fight Manny again.

Oh he changed his mind? He wants a rematch?

I hope he does stay retired and I hope Manny just decides to have his "Berto" fight, maybe against Khan and just calls it a day because if he fights Spence, it's not gonna end well for him.
Hate to see him go out like RJJ getting knocked out for paychecks.

When Manny finally calls it a day we can put all this BS behind us and get back to the Canelo GGG **** for years to come lol.

                • Mayweather needs to watch how he talks. It doesn't send a good message to the rest of his fighters.

You want to send the message that people are working with you not for you.

Mayweather has to also understand who he is talking to, I'm sure he noticed then when he went to the Philippines that Pacquiao is not just some ordinary dude.

Then again i think its just an act and Pac and Mayweather are actually friends and understand they need to collaborate to maximize their earning potential.

There’s no other fight out there that would generate more money than a Pac vs Mayweather fight.
I highly doubt mayweather wants to fight any professional boxer again not just manny. Also doubt floyd at 42 would come out of a 5 year lay off and go straight to manny. He would need a tune up atleast.
I really don’t see the rematch happening.
