Floyd has been a Khabib tour
Floyd Mayweather might one day fight Manny Pacquiao again, but the 42-year-old boxer reportedly has other ideas in mind. TMZ reports that Ali Abdelaziz, Khabib Nurmagomedov's manager, has said that Mayweather has been "begging" to fight Khabib, urging him to sign a Conor McGregor-style boxing match deal.
"Floyd Mayweather to this day keeps begging to fight Khabib...Begging," he stressed, as Mayweather reportedly continues to avoid any offers for a rematch between him and Pacquiao. "I'm telling you, people reaching out to me every week about Floyd to fight Khabib but at the end of the day, we're not interested...for now." Khabib isn't a boxer, but apparently Mayweather is once again only interested in boxing him.
As of right now, Khabib's focus remains on his Sept. 7 fight with Dustin Poirier for the UFC lightweight title, but after that he's also got plans as to who he wants to fight. Earlier this year, Conor McGregor let it be known that he was also willing to jump in the ring with Mayweather again. The two previously fought with McGregor, a UFC fighter, losing in the boxing match. McGregor expressed that he's willing to forego his usual UFC skills in favor of a boxing rematch.
When Khabib and McGregor had a lightweight UFC match against each other last October, Khabib came out victorious, so that perhaps explains why Mayweather is seeking what the world would perceive as a tougher challenge.
