Boxing fans dont care about drug testing or failed tests. They do, however, care when a fighter they don't like or a fighter who's a rival of the fighter they like fails a drug test. It's just fanboy back-and-forth behavior.
Evan Rutowski touched on it when Mannix started going off on his podcast a few weeks ago. He said "If you're a fan of a team and someone on the team fails a drug test, you don't go 'Oh man I can never watch them again' or something, you say 'Damn, we need him on Sunday'"
Its boxing writers job to try and make people care about a guy failing a test, but 99.9% of people simply dont.
