I picked Baldy to win this fight by decision. I just thought that Gatti looked slow and a little uncoordinated against Damgaard. He wore Damgaard down over the course of the fight and busted up his face badly, but there's something about the way he punches now, that I just can't see him landing those one shot knockouts anymore. His punches have slowed considerably and he doesn't seem to have great timing or accuracy. Knowing that Damgaard took Gatti 11 rounds, I was pretty sure Baldy would be a much more difficult fight and I didn't think Gatti would be able to deal with it.

Then, yesterday morning, I rewatched the Gatti Damgaard fight, and I just didn't like the way Gatti fought at all. Damgaard was able to swarm him at times and he took way too many unecessary shots. I just knew that this fight was going to go badly for Gatti, and I like him, so I decided I wouldn't watch. Thank god I didn't, because I think it would have been really hard to watch him take another beating like that. And to actually see him go out on the canvas would have been terrible. It sucks enough just reading it. Baldy has a chin made of steel, and I knew Gatti wouldn't be able to hurt him and keep him back, and Gatti would just get swarmed in close, where he doesn't seem to be able to fight well anymore.

Buddy McGirt is having a terrible year with his fighters.

edit: I also think Gatti should retire. It sucks, but there's nothing left for him to do, and there's no reason for him to go the Holyfield route and take continuous pointless beatings until his old age.

Thats because Buddy Mgsit cant train for ****. He does not know what to tell the fighter in the corner. It's like he only has one gameplan once the other fighter figures it out, he freezes, thats why his son will get his ass kicked soon

When you recommend Gatti as a hero to your kid, will you also tell your kid that Arturo had (has?) alcohol problems? That he beat up his girl? That he beat up an old man? That he has had several DWI's to the extent that his license was revoked in multiple states?

You know... since you brought up the "hero" thing....

              We all have problems. ABSOLUTELY.

But Gatti is not the guy you encourage your kid to take as a hero.

              Facts are facts.

If Gatti movies up in weight and they match him with Tito trinidad you idiots will be saying he can outpunch Tito! Hell you idiots would even pick him over Hopkins!

I read it in an article and I can find you THAT link as well.

Mayweather also brought it up when he complained about how people (fans, media) tried to paint him as the 'bad guy' when Gatti had a similar or worse record.
