likewise, ricky hatton was the lineal and ring magazine champion of the world at 140 lbs. his lineage was traced back to kostya tszyu, a great and long reigning champion. hatton's loss came to floyd at the 147 limit and hatton's 140 lb lineage was not on the line.

at least get some real perspective and know what was going on at the time before you spout off your nonsense.
Lmao @ the ring and lineal champion

The Ring is a magazine and Lineal is some imaginary title. Try again.

Yeah. Championships are only legitimate when they are sanctioned by boxing organizations.

Like the WBC Topaz Jigglypuff Dragon-Warrior World Championship belt.

Yet that magazine is considered the end all be all by both sport media and boxing experts. 90 years and counting.

              - -No need to blame Stokely for being a sickly child raised by sickly parents.

              It happens!

Manny nearing 41 still top rated welter fighting top contenders and top p4per.

If Pac is beating in prime young undefeated lions at 41, there is no real need to question his ability to achieve anything from 106lb to 140lb
If he can beat a top 3 WW at 41, you can safely conclude it don't matte what you threw at him below 147 he could handle.
No reason to belittle Pacs career. Unless you know hes the best of era and GOAT and your trying to bring him down a peg or 2. Why don't I start Floyd threads trying to belittle him? Because hes no threat to Pac.

Pacquaiao seems to get a pass while Mayweather gets scrutinized.

Frankly, the fact that - even in the lower weight divisions - Boxing is a second, third, or even fourth-rate sport really hurts the talent pool.

With the end of WWII, Boxing's main draw: poor Whites, suddenly had a quick out from poverty. Simultaneously, immigration from Europe was essentially cut-off. With few poor Whites to feed the ranks, everyone else kinda crawled in.

By the time Pacquiao and Mayweather arrived things had really thinned out. The best athletes were playing Baseball, Soccer, Football, Hockey, Basketball, or something collegiate/olympic. Hell, Skateboarding, LaCrosse and BMX attract as many kids as Boxing does today.

So, Mayweather and Pacquiao both had less great fighters to pick from.

Pacquiao hit his ceiling against Marquez: one of the best Mexico has ever produced. He needs to be mentioned with Sanchez, Canto, Zarate, Chavez, Olivares, Ortiz... he's about on their level.

He has KO'd bigger men, but again their marquee status was dependent on them coming of age in an era when Boxing was comparatively weak.
