They already lost the Canelo September fight. This fight & the Canelo December fight could fall within a month of each other meaning the same people who pay for AJ/Ruiz won't have to purchase a new sub for Canelo/TBA. AJ/Ruiz would be on a Saturday afternoon/evening going up against college football in America. And a lot less media coverage moving it from the media capital of the world to Cardiff. Having this fight in Cardiff would be a terrible for DAZN
How bad would it be for DAZN if Joshua-Ruiz II ends up in Cardiff?

No doubt it would be a big blow. Putting it in NY and this fight does wonders for DAZN. Putting it in the afternoon and you lose a great opportunity to increase subscribers.
This is why I said a few days ago and even mentioned yesterday that if Hearn has anything to do with it, he will do what DAZN wants and that is putting the fight in NY. If it is Joshua's call, then there really is nothing he can do and will have to accept the fight taking place in Cardiff.
The question is, for long-term success for DAZN, is it just more important that Joshua gets his belts back? If so, then you take a bit of a hit by having the fight in Cardiff to give him the best chance to get his belts back and to redeem himself. And then you can have him fight stateside the following year in a big fight. -

Dazn is more worried about giving AJ any possible advantage with all the money on the line so they know a Joshua loss will hurt them ,Ruiz isn't tied to them so its not bad at all . They'll lose money on one night but that's not their long term goal its to get AJ his belts and overseas is his best bet.
Edit : Dazn does not over ride Match room where AJ is actually contracted every fight to.Last edited by REDEEMER; 07-23-2019, 01:53 PM.Comment

Ruiz should just hold out the worst case situation for DAZN is those belts slowly landing in other fighters hands making the road for AJ to recover them long and tedious. If you want the fight in Europe Ruiz should demand a ransom.Comment

Ruiz should be dishonourable and not honour the deal he made? Like the TS who refused to pay his bet?Comment
