For the Legacy: Pacquiao vs Spence

I think Manny would go on I guess. I just saw him wearing a shirt in the post fight with a glittering letters of "Fight On" and there was no sign whatsoever that he wanted to finally bring the curtain down.

Mikey Garcia in an interview after the fight, said, he personally asked Manny "Why still go on? What is there to accomplish, you've done it all Manny?" Manny simply answered him: for the Legacy, he wanted to add more.

Going by this, I think he is going straight to the winner of Porter vs. Spence. He would not bother with the Amir Khan's or Andy Garcia's because those guys don't have major belts, those guys no longer increase his legacy. Maybe those lower tier guys can get it after Spence as a farewell fight in his hometown.

I think he went to PBC knowing that him and Spence would eventually meet, if not sooner then later. He always knew just like Roger Federer once said against the rude reporter that he didn't join the French Open to avoid Rafael Nadal.--Pacquiao knew exactly that their path would eventually cross.

As for Crawford, it's bad luck for him because he's out of reach at the moment, he had his chance though, but, Arum didn't want to invest for him against Pacquiao. He had Pacquiao's head right there and then.--that was such an opportunity loss to increase his value and legacy.

Pacquaio already has brain damage. Fighting Spence would probably accelerate the onset of Parkinson's and/or serious dementia by a couple of years.

Pacquiao should retire. There is nothing to prove. These young guns doesnt deserve a win over Manny. Spence must compete in Junior Middleweight

His ATG status would go up just by taking the fight, letting alone winning. If he beat Spence, his legacy skyrockets to epic proportions, and there would be no debate on who the best of this generation is.

But realistically, he doesn't need to take this fight.

People had similar opinions about Leonard returning to fight Norris. Some saw it as another notch on the legacy, others saw it as an unnecessary risk. It proved to be the latter.

The same could be said about Hopkins-Kovalev.

I expect Pacquiao to be a far bigger underdog than both those two also.

Although I’m convinced he continues, I think Manny should retire his win over Thurman was a fitting end to a uniquely legendary career.

Noooo... Did Ali’s status as an ATG rise against Holmes?

If he’s competitive his status would rise but if he’s convincingly defeated what does that achieve?

We already know Pacquiao is a courageous and honourable warrior, he’s proved that by fighting top level competition for the better part of two decades. But there’s no need to chase greatness when you’ve already achieved it.

The fight would be competitive. Could see Manny even stunning Spence with his speed and footwork but after the 5th - 6th round Spence will start taking over and eventually Manny would get stopped. Would hate to see him go that way but to make him retire we would need a ''passing of the torch'' moment and even then PacMan can still end on a high after that by KO'ing someone like Khan in Saudi Arabi at 42 and then maybe ending it in the Philippines with someone like Berto/Collazo as a farewell fight. Can see it happening. Spence TKO/KO round 8/9. PacMan UD over Khan and PacMan farewell fight against Berto/Collazo/Granados or even someone like Devon Alexander/Ortiz.

You're right, but I give Manny a really good chance to upset Spence, and enhance his legacy that much more. He doesn't have anything to prove, but if he beat a young, and in his prime bull like Spence, best of this generation, no debate.

Pacman wants to fight on so wtf is up with all this ohhh he should retire poosie sht. Nobody cAn tell another man what to do especially a fighter.

Pac genuinely loves to fight and why not. It keeps him sharp mentally and physically and he gets to make millions.
