Correct me if I am wrong but Thurman had to beat Julio Diaz back in 2014 to become interim champ. he was later promoted to a regular champ ( Mayweather was a super champ), and Thurman was promoted to a super champ before unification fight with Danny Garcia.

Well, things could be much more difficult for him now. Now you must beat one of 4 aces to become a world champ. Spence will probably take WBC strap from Porter and make things even more difficult for Thurman.

You will have to beat Spence/Pacquiao/Crawford to become a world champ again, Keith.

He could if the fans can convince Pacquaio to retire already. Thurman can fight for the belt against a top contender. He would be back in the championship mix filling the 40-yr old’s shoes for welterweight unification

Crawford would have been the lineal champ by now if Pacquiao didn’t announce his retirement after Bradley 3. Linage would have been from Pac-Horn-Crawford making Crawford the #1 in the division

Crawford would have gained more respect in the division if he was crowned the lineal champ. ‘He beat the man who beat the man’ is how the famous line goes. It’s all about who’s the man on top and being the lineal erases doubt on who’s the man on top. Everybody else will be shouting that this guy is ducking us here and there and they would have been aiming for him now instead of treating him like an outcast just like what’s currently happening.

This was a very competitive fight that Manny edged out. Keith Thurman was too thirsty for the ko. He could've beat Pacquiao even after the knockdown if he actually used his jab and stop loading up right hands. I suppose he really wanted to win that Ko bet. If he uses his jab he probably wins 2 more rounds and the fight. I'm sure he will be back and have to game plan better. And i suppose his power isn't capable of knocking out anyone at this point. Because he hit Manny with the best shots you can land and he didnt flinch.
