anthems with the fighters in the ring........

    is beyond ******.

I would be furious if my fighter warmed up, they walked him to the ring, and then he had to stand there for 20 minutes while they did anthems.

Anthems should be done while the fighters are warming up in the dressing rooms, BEFORE the ring walks........

People at my crib watchin were laughing that manny didn’t seem to know the anthem. Maybe it is time to scale that back. Do it at the start of the card.

I agree, but they were running short on time. So they had no choice.

running short on time??? Nonsense. A previous fight ended early, and on top of that it was a PPV on its own channel, so they had all night if they needed it........

Anthems before fights in general are ******.... These are individuals and professionals, not amateurs.

I never understood it. I'm not one to disrespect tradition but it seems pointless before a fight. I don't think Americans are that nationalistic either so maybe we're not seeing it like others do. Fans from other countries sometimes see these fights as one country vs another.

It’s especially cringy when all these celebrities musicians try to do those national anthems. I can’t remember which fight Ray J was signing on (Was Definitely a Mayweather fight), and I just thought please sir stop... just stop.

                It's an American thing.

I want to watch a fight not a signing contest.

American broadcasters too frightened to scrap it though.

Agree! They could still be getting loose in the Dressing Room instead of working up a sweat early then drying by the time the fight starts

I hate it, I’m not a patriotic sort of person at all, it’s a waste of time and pointless.
