  • Comments Thread For: Hearn on Joshua-Ruiz II: December 14 in Cardiff is Frontrunner

Anthony Joshua is "one million percent" sure on taking up a rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr, according to promoter Eddie Hearn. Ruiz stunned the world of boxing when he handed Joshua the first defeat of his professional career at Madison Square Garden on June 1, dropping him four times to claim the IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO heavyweight belts.

The fight looks like it's going to be rigged. If AJ loses on home turf it's going to be the end of his career.

Safest way for Hearn to get back control of the belts- Ruiz has no shot to win a decision there. Hope AJ keeps saying he wants to redeem himself at MSG and delivers

Ie the fix is in. Lucifer is not only pushing Joshua to fight Ruiz immediately so he can continue living off Joshua’s blood, but trying to get it in the uk so both the referee and judges can be bought. Without Joshua, Eddie “Lucifer” Hearn is nothing more than a local British “domestic” level promoter

Don't do it, Andy. You're the champion now.

Insist on a venue of your choosing.

If it was in the original contract he signed, not much he can do, unless he wants to get stripped of all the belts and wind up in litigation.

Why is Hearn still talking like he calls the shots. Ruiz and his camp has said a number of times, Hearn doesn’t call the shots on the venue. He keeps pushing UK like the Cardiff's Principality Stadium where all the advantages would be for Joshua.

Something tells me the rematch probably won’t happen. I don’t believe Ruiz and his camp should agree to fighting in the UK as the current champion unless there is a substantial amount of more money involved than MSG or another US venue. What about Jerry Jones World at Texas stadium? A lot of the Mexican and Hispanic nation would come out to support that fight. If they push the date back to December 21st, that venue is available because the Dallas Cowboys are playing away at Philadelphia on December 22nd.

But I know the UK stadium that Hearn mentioned has a seating capacity of 74,500 and Jerry World seats 65,675. MSG only seats 20,789. I guess that’s the tough part about it. The US stadiums that are in partnership to host boxing events aren’t built with the largest seat capacities in the world. If the US college football stadiums got into the mix of boxing, that would be huge for boxing. Like the Michigan stadium that seats over 110,000, 2nd largest stadium in the world or Penn State the seats the 3rd largest.
