I agree, also Floyd Mayweather's win against Canelo Alvarez was much greater.

People try and make out that Canelo Alvarez was only a baby, and was not the finished article. 'He was undefeated, and had just fought and beaten Cotto/ Mosely'. I can remember at the time many reporters where picking against Mayweather.

Even Mayweather's win vs Oscar De La Hoya was greater than Keith Thurman.

Oscar was about 5 years past any meaningful win.
Canelo fought Cotto about 2 years after he fought Mayweather.

And Canelo has gotten better by a large margin since the Mayweather fight so no, he was not a finished product just yet.

Every fighter is subject to the court of popular opinion. In today’s “what have you done for me lately” world, Manny rises above and proves who the true warrior is, and demonstrates time and again what real fans appreciate in a fighter. While Floyd was content to remain in his comfort zone against opponents who were cherry picked or never at their best, Manny has continually walked right into the fire. Challenging himself while proving his detractors wrong.

As time marches forward, Floyd will be remembered more for his earnings, arrogance and undefeated record than for fighting the best at their best. He will take a hit for never fighting an elite level fighter at their very best. While Manny’s star rises above for doing just the opposite.

Nope, Manny is 3-4 divisions smaller than Floyd. This run he's had at 147 is the equivilent of Floyd going to 160 or even 168 and dominating.

Not saying Floyd couldn't have had success like that but he didn't and I'll always take tee fighter who pushes his limits and takes a few losses over the undefeated 1 who plays it safe.

Yup to be as good as Manny, Floyd has to conquer middleweight.
