During the mid rounds pacquiao landed a hard body shot on thurman and had him hurt the commentators thought it was a headbutt. WTF? These guys were horrible! they should be fired. They've been horrible forever.
Another pbc commentary fail!

I heard that and thought wtf??? Are they old or just incompetent?
And Lewis was terrible last night, I wasn't sure if he was speaking English or something else. -
I also didn't like the commentary, but it's not just on fox, it's everywhere in the sport these days. The only decent one still is the showtime team. But the rest are all whack tbh. Inexperienced commentators who have no idea how turn the fight into a story and how to do basic blow by blow to let the fans know what's happening and to keep them interested.Comment

Been a fan of Lewis as a fighter my whole adult life, but he sucks ass as a commentator, same as Ray Leonard. There are a lot better former and even current fighters for that job.Comment

The commentary and production value was awful. Odd camera angles, missing important punches, going to the desk during the fight, showing family members during the rd and shrinking the main screen of the fight to show relatives, not listening in and showing the corners between rds. Not changing cameras when the ref was blocking the view of the fighters.
People can hate HBO for many reasons but they had first rate production values.Comment

Everyone on the cast came out with some kind of nonsense or another. That's kind of par for the course though, actually good commentary is depressingly rare these days. Just another reason that HBO bowing out was bad news.Comment

The funny thing was when one of them brought up "body language" after the punch but never finished the thought.
Thurman was obviously favoring one side of his body and about to crumble to the mat.
Gee, I wonder what could've caused that?Comment
