the anti haymon crowd however needed something to explain it

heres a good explanation....people like spence have been exposed to the national audience on CBS at cowboy stadium on thanksgiving day

Not sure those viewership numbers mean anything at all. The two standout numbers from Spence were on NBC. On Showtime, and especially recently, their numbers are remarkably similar.

It was always a myth to say Garcia drove the ticket and PPV sales. Those in attendance all said the crowd was close to 50/50, with Spence probably having a bit more fans in the stadium. There is no data that shows Mikey is a bigger star than Spence...NONE. If you want to say they were on equal footing going in? That would be more accurate.

Spence vs Ocampo had more average viewers than Garcia vs Easter

Spence vs Peterson had more average viewers than Garcia vs Lipinets

Each of the comparisons were around the same time as well.

Similar yes, but this proves that Mikey Garcia isn�t the bigger attraction and wasn�t the one who brought in all the ticket sales or PPV buys.

You're reaching, bro. You're comparing old Mikey fights when Mikey was unknown to Spence's most recent fights. The Lopez fight was in 2013. Two fights before that Mikey fought in Mexico against a guy with a 36-15 record. Mikey was barely know. And Spence had the marketing support of the Cowboys - not to mention that Spence is from Dallas - when he sold out the Star.

I call bull***** again. You're comparing Spence's ratings on NBC to Mikey's ratings on Showtime. 100 million homes to 25 million homes. You can't be that ******. Take out the NBC numbers and Mikey and Spence did the same ratings.

Spence vs. Brook was a PPV event in the United Kingdom which had 275,000 buys. Mikey Garcia in his 12 year career was never on PPV before his fight with Errol Spence.

You can't possibly be this dumb. Brook vs. Spence was a PPV in BROOK'S market, the UK. In Spence's home market, the fight wasn't on PPV, and it averaged only about 300K viewers, though it was on the afternoon.

Most importantly, TV ratings and ticket sales don't always correlate with PPV drawing power. Crawford gets excellent TV ratings and sells tickets well, but his PPVs have bombed...hasn't broken 200K buys in his 2 PPVs combined.

Ward and Kovalev did great TV ratings but their 2 PPVs bombed.

Anyone who understands boxing PPVs knows that the Mexican and Mexican-American fans are the most consistent and loyal PPV buyers. That's why Kovalev-Ward and the Crawford PPVs tanked.

The fighters themselves obviously helped as well and they got great promotion from FOX.

But this is some fair analysis. Again, much better than saying Mikey Garcia was the reason for the good PPV sales and the good attendance number.

Twitter and Instagram represent only a tiny fraction of the viewing audience and an even smaller part of the Mexican and Mexican-American audience.

Crawford has 460K Instagram followers and can't sell a PPV to save his life.
