I have to disagree with you and say it’s just the opposite. I’ll elaborate. A fighter can be old for fighting even at an early age. Depending on how many tough fights and wars he’s been in. GGG at 35 was still in great shape. Previous to Jacobs, GGG had never been in a tough fight let alone a war. So In my opinion, the reason behind the illusion that he had finally started to slow down due to age was just that an illusion. Instead it was do to GGG finally facing a true elite caliber opponent in Jacobs. And not these overmatched opponents who at best were subpar. And Golovkin’s last performance against Rolls reaffirms me that that is the case.

That's why I said what I said against non-elite opponents. He's still much better than them even tho he's not prime. But against better opposition, the speed and movement that he needs isn't quite there anymore. The guy has been fighting for over 20 years. You gotta factor in all the amateur fights, sparring, running, strength and conditioning exercises, all the thousands upon thousands of punchings thrown etc. Just because he hadn't been in any wars, doesn't mean the body shouldn't start slowing down, which it naturally does around the mid 30s. GGG at 35 was in great shape compared to most, but not compared to the Golovkin of only a couple years earlier. Look at how he looked physically in Canelo 1 compared to say Lemieux or Monroe; he looked different and the weigh-ins and fight night reflected that. Sure, it comes down to the opponent, but I'm saying I noticed physical attributes that were declining back in 2016. In any fantasy match up of any kind, in any sport, I'm not picking a 35+ year old version.

DAZN is in the wrong here. Governing bodies are threatening to strip Canelo if he does not fight their #1 contender. DAZN is directly involved in getting Canelo stripped of his titles because they refuse to allow him to honor his obligations to the governing bodies. If Canelo fought Andrade (a DAZN fighter) he would satisfy the governing bodies and he won't be stripped, but DAZN is basically obstructing their own biggest star by making demands that they have no legal right to make such as only approving 2 fighters as Canelo next opponent and striking down any other fighters such as Andrade. In such actions DAZN will cause Canelo to lose his titles. How can Canelo go on and maintain a relationship with DAZN if there actions are directly causing him to lose his titles?

He needs out of his DAZN contract. DAZN has no idea what they are doing. And I thought PBC was incompetent, but not even Al Haymon would make such ******, counterproductive decisions. With the exposure of Joshua one would think DAZN would want to keep and make the sports biggest box office star happy. Instead, they are doing nothing but antagonizing him and causing harm to Canelo's career. Canelo has already moved up in weight and fought a much bigger top ten title holder less than 3 months after the Triple Tune-Up fight and 4 months later he fought the best middleweight in the world. While Triple Tune-Up has fought the #106 ranked 36 yr old middleweight for a reported $14 million. It seems to me DAZN is frustrated and angry at the wrong fighter. Canelo has been earning his big money contract while Triple Tune-Up has had it too easy without any push back from DAZN.

I’m not saying age had nothing to do with him slowing down. What I’m saying is that the level of competition played bigger role in the illusion of him slowing down than age did. I just don’t think he was ever that great as people made him out to be. Well good chat.
