Has this been one of the worst years in boxing?

I can’t think of one big fight this year. Or one big fight that’s been announced this year.

ALL the big fights have been avoided and ducked and excuses been made.

We the boxing fan should not be made to put up with this.

Next year will be the same, they will tell us the same line ‘next year will be the big fights’ because they know how ****** we have become as fans that we just accept any old rubbish now.

Well, yeah we’re not seeing the best versus the best, hardly ever. True.

But the Ruiz win was great. The Canelo Jacobs fight wasn’t terrible. Thurman and Pacquaio should be good.

Its been rather lackluster so far no doubt. Hopefully the 2nd half of the year looks better, but all in all idk about it being the worst year ever or anything like that. That said I don't really think of it as a year to year sport like that unless its a overall good year like the last couple years have been pretty good.

It’s been poor in terms of getting fights people want to see.

I mean, watching Ruiz ping AJ was exciting of course but on paper it was still a fight nobody cared about before that. The rematch later this year is pretty intriguing though.

It's pretty weak. Tons of talent, but weak ass matchmaking.

The worst part of it is they want you to pay 75 bucks for any half decent matchup that doesn't include Canelo now.
This weekend's fight is intriguing to me so I'm buying it but it's my first of the year and I don't foresee paying for another unless Thurman and Spence or manny and Spence fight.

Fury vs Wilder was a pretty fun fight.

Spence vs Garcia was kind of a letdown. Crawford vs Khan was a lot less competitive than I expected.

Hurd vs J-Rock was a cool fight. Ruiz vs Joshua obviously ruled.

Pretty much the fact that Crawford and Spence won't fight and Wilder is rematching Ortiz while Fury fights bums rather than Joshua or Wilder is a big disappointment.

If we could just get Truax vs DeGale III it would make it all better.
