Comments Thread For: Benavidez vs. Collazo, Navarrete vs. De Vaca Finalized - August 17

The soccer field will become a fistic battleground Saturday, August 17, as Jose Benavidez Jr. will battle former world champion Luis Collazo in a 10-round welterweight co-feature at Banc of California Stadium, the home of Major League Soccer's Los Angeles FC. In the other co-feature, WBO junior featherweight champion Emanuel "Vaquero" Navarrete will make the second defense of his title against the undefeated Francisco "Panchito" De Vaca.

Navarette is a tough SOB. He and JRock are perfect examples of why you shouldn't write a guy off when he loses. They have both comeback and beaten tough guys and won titles.

Navarette will be a load for anyone at JFW or FW. I am looking forward to watching him fight.

Decent card, Benavidez/Collazo could be competitive and Navarrete should be able to showcase his skills. Still think he's the best at 122

Fucking hell... For a moment I thought Collazo had moved up to SMW.

If Collazo wins this one, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being Crawford's opponent in Omaha at the end of the year. Top Rank wanted to make that fight earlier this year before turning to Khan.

I hope Collazo wins so Terrence can give him a really good beating. Collazo was one of three wba champions at the same time. Zab was the real lineal champion.
