  • Comments Thread For: Manny Pacquiao Continues To Push Forward With Historic Career

By Corey Erdman - A lot has changed in the world of boxing since Manny Pacquiao entered the public's consciousness back in 1998 when he captured the WBC flyweight title from Chatchai Sasakul. Not a single one of The Ring Magazine's Top 10 pound for pound fighters at the end of that year are still active. Seven of th...

Manny Pacquiao is an all time great. He's done it all and fans should savor every minute of his twilight because of who he is in a historical context; one of the best to ever do it. At this stage of his career, Pacquiao is no longer fighting to be ranked among the best of today's era. He's already done that. At this stage, whenever Pacquiao fights, he's fighting to move up in the all time rankings. It's not about current pound for pound lists, it's about him moving the needle on where he stands on the all time pound for pound rankings. He's a GOAT.

I'm surprised that no scientists actually try to find out why sports stars like Pac and Hopkins are able to endure so long. Is it genetics or is it a repeatable process? There's important things to be learnt here.

And most importantly, he does it with a smile! He loves to entertain and give the public their money's worth, because he knows that although he has been really poor, he is privileged to be in the position he's in. He is grateful for his success and his life.

100%! There must be a number of factors and it would be interesting to see what makes them the exception to the rule!

I agree. Perhaps an important factor is the possibility of an ideal slow-twitch muscle to fast-twitch muscle ratio that Manny has been blessed with. These two muscle types both have their pros and cons - knowing the ideal ratio that negates or lessens the cons to a significant extent will be good for science!

Keith brings nothing to this dance Manny hasn't seen before twice over. Thurman never improved enough to suggest her can beat this caliber a fighter.
