The main reason I sometimes use boxrec is that the rank every pro boxer in every weight class. Sometimes a top boxer like Khan or Lara fights a guy so lousy that nobody ranks him in there top 15 which is as low as they go. I have to go to boxrec to get an idea how bad the guy really is. Billy Dib was ranked 34th at featherweight.

It’s the arguably the worst ranking system in boxing, certainly the most hilarious.😂

They have Chris Eubank Jr ranked as the P4P #21, David Lemieux ranked at #63 and then rank Billy Joe Saunders #84 despite him clearly beating Lemieux and also beating Eubank.

They have at #27 Jeff Horn (yes Jeff Horn) and he is rated above Inoue, Estrada and is a full 68 places ahead of 4 weight world champion Donnie Nietes who also finds himself 15 places behind Anthony Crolla.

        And my personal favourite...
Rocky Fielding 8 places higher than former consensus p4p #1 Roman Gonzalez.

        F*** Boxrec’s rankings...
Could not have said it better! Great place for records, but it gets sickening seeing casuals always using their rankings. Computers cant score fights.

I think you can rank fighters better with computers, but not when you are dealing with incomplete info like Boxrec does. And lets be real the legit ABC Group rankings are worse than ANYTHING boxrec has did.

The P4P stuff is a big problem with boxrec doe I'd agree with you there. There are two big biases I see as a regular boxrec guy. 1 is that the bigger divisions tend to have more points due to guys moving up & failing eventually. 2 they too strongly give points to undefeated guys. The first one could be solvable with keeping a certain number of points in every division. That'd give you a better P4P list for sue. The second one idk exactly why undefeated guys are overfavored cuz its been a minute since I looked into their formula, but I'm sure there is some fix to that.
