Bad stoppage?

I thought the Brant-Murata fight was stopped way too early.

Was Murata probably on his way to a knockout? Yes. But I thought the ref was way too trigger happy on that one.

Yes. I too think that Brant should have been killed in the ring.

He could have stopped it a minute earlier and I would have been OK with it...Brant had nothing left at the start of that second round imo...those body shots took it out of him I think...I do think Murata punched himself out at the start of the 2nd as well though...so I can see the angle that at the exact time of the stoppage that Brant looked better there than he had previously.

But he had nothing on his punches in that 2nd round...and was hardly throwing after a certain point...he didn't do nearly enough imo to have a valid case for an early stoppage...I think the ref did a really good job there imo...gave Brant a chance and then decided he had had enough

Those 2 minutes of unanswered punches might as well have been 2 seconds.

Right call by the ref stop it when he did.

I thought the ref should have stopped it sooner. But at the same time, Brant looked to be in better shape at the time of the stoppage than he did like 30 seconds earlier, since Murata had punched himself out and Brant was still attempting to hit back. But it seems a KO was inevitable.
