Of course the writer has to slip in that “Canelo is rejecting GGGs attempts to make a 3rd fight.” They were negotiation until GGG, the loser, refused to fight in Vegas. Crazy how much that fact has been twister to make it seem like it’s Canelos fault.

Derev already being mandatory is kind of screwed up considering he lost to Jacobs not even a year ago, but looking at the IBF rankings he’s probably the best name on there. It’s littered with scrubs.

I actually think Rolls is a solid fighter...2nd or 3rd tier guy at MW though...and as I have always said, it wasn't the fight we all wanted to see with GGG at MW...but I could see it making sense as a stay busy/tune up fight if he was due to fight again in a few months after.

My only point was that Rolls was mentioned by many who critique GGG as a number 100 or so guy...and according the organization rankings he was in the top 15 in 2 and top 10 in one of those...criticism of that fight/any fighter is fair, but was just correcting the record a bit as far as where Rolls is actually situated.

Not really hyping up that fight...Rolls is solid imo but at 36-37 GGG should be going a little harder in his last few fights...though to be fair to GGG a lot people who don't like him don't give him much credit for anything at all that he's done...and when I look at his career I think he's done some really great things...as an example - if GGG KOed Andrade or Charlo people would just say they suck and wouldn't give him any real credit for those...they would say he should have fought the other one lol.

So yeah I hope GGG gets paid at the end of his career but I would also like to see him in against Callum Smith/Canelo and maybe a few others...but I don't think a lot of those on here who critique him are very objective imo...so if he goes about just trying to please them, I think that's a fool's errand personally...just my 2 cents

It is weird...I guess WBC passed on their mando with the franchise belt so they were out...but Jacobs just had one with the IBF belt too?...don't see how WBA and WBO were passed over for the IBF...and I don't really see how Dervy got back up to the top of the IBF list so fast...I thought Culcay probably deserved to win that fight too, so just all around I don't see how Dervy is back with a shot right now

Lol ranked by who though bro - the people who post on here maybe? lol...he was 8 in IBF and 15 in WBC...criticism of any fight/fighter is fair but some of the stuff people level at GGG is just kind of odd imo...the over the top critiquing of him just kind makes any potentially relevant criticism fall flat...if you really know 20 MWs like that more power to ya my friend...he is definitely better than Hugo Centeno and some would probably list Hugo top 20.

Here is the IBO current list...Centeno at 25 and Rolls at 26...if Centeno is 25 Rolls is top 5 lol...jk but seriously everyone 11+ is not anything to write home about...Rolls clearly not at the top at MW but probably 2nd or 3rd tier...not anything to write home about...was just correcting the record as far as him being top 20 rather than number 100 lol

            https://www.iboboxing.com/rankings/160.html

He is at 26 there in IBO...one behind...Hugo Centeno lol...who no disrespect to, I don't rate at all...Rolls also looked OK in there against GGG...about what I would expect a 10-20 guy at MW to look like against the number 1...so yeah not really hyping him up to say he is like the 16th best guy at MW.

That's actually still a shi.tty fight for GGG as the top MW...but was just correcting the record that Rolls is really more of a top 15 guy according to my eyes...and the org rankings...than top 500 like many GGG-dislikers were saying...I'm all for criticism and discussion of any fighter.

I rate GGG pretty highly but I also have some criticisms of him as a fighter...but yeah it just seems like a lot of the stuff leveled at him on this site is strange, and is not really backed up by the facts...from what I can tell...just my analysis though.

Also...with Rolls...IBF had him at 8...WBC still at 15...not sure where people were really getting their info from as far as him being number 500...just makes it seem like people's critique of GGG is very biased imo...not really a great fight though...not really defending it...but yeah as a stay busy fight it's OK in my book.

Just seems like a lot of Canelo fans/GGG dislikers want to cling onto Rolls being 100 or something because they are fanatical and just really wanting to get on GGG for anything possible...and it's not a big deal...that's what happens in sports/boxing...but yeah I think Rolls is in about the same league as Fielding...and I think he showed that against GGG just like Fielding did against Canelo...they both got starched out in a few rounds.

Rolls was ranked #106 by boxrec when he signed vs ggg & went down to 116th at one pt after,& the other orgs didn't even rank him because they don't rank complete garbage. The fact that you think he was anything but a literal F level 35 yr old amatuer that had only fought a single 10 rd fight in his "career" says it all. He was literally just as shtty a mismatch opponent than mcgimper was somehow.

He was a literal bricklayer who a was part time amatuer, if you can't see how that differs from other opponents like Fielding then you are a know nothing casual gggroupie

Honestly man you sound like you're really embellishing stuff, and you actually are embellishing lol, just to try and score points for your guy...I don't really have a vested interest in any of this stuff lol...just basically looking at what the data shows and going from there.

But if you want to pin your decision making to whatever boxrec says OK...but just be consistent in that approach...you have to go by everything they say 100% from now on

But yeah based on eye test and resume Rolls and Fielding are two sides of the same coin in my view...Fielding lasted 1 round with Callum and 3 with Canelo...I mean to say he is clearly better than Rolls who went 4 with GGG...I mean yeah I just don't really get that logic on that one.

Boxrec is not an 'org' btw...and as I mentioned in previous posts Rolls was ranked 8 by IBF and 15 by WBC...where is he ranked with the WBC is about where I think he should be...once you get to about number 10 in MW the names get pretty flat from what I have seen...Rolls was a good amateur fighter so it's not like he was someone who never boxed.

But yeah man if you really want to make hyping up Rocky Fielding as being MUCH MUCH better than Steve Rolls as your hill to lie on...by all means don't let me stop you lol

rolls was unranked until he signed for ggg, thats how bad of a mismatch this was. fight was crap and is a shame that the gggroupies defend this utter bs instead of demanding for the real top dogs, but eith lets bring murata or munguia!!!

Do you have proof on the bold? Not necessarily dis*****g it...orgs do that a lot...bumping guys up or down out of nowhere...money talks I guess...but yeah everything I've seen/research on Rolls would put him about 15 or so at MW.

If someone can name 100 better I'm all ears...or if someone really thought Rolls' performance vs GGG was indicative of a 100 ranked fighter rather than a number 15 guy...I mean I guess people can just call it like they see it there.

Rolls notwithstanding...GGG has faced a lot of 'top dogs' in his career...and once he gets done with them they all of a sudden become bums lol...so he may as well get paid as he closes out his career...no point in him trying to please those who will never really give him credit anyway.
