in all logistic fairness, mayweather has the advantage over pacquaio because of him starting younger with former professional boxers in the family, fuhhk. prolly had Baby Floyd doin somethin in the crib at age 1week, Good boxers, top good /decent world level boxers in close families will do it.You don't have to be great, but you need to be good. In a sense, they took the hits for Floyd.
Like Roach, he was good. That pretty much sealed Floyd's lucky ass destiny in quick fast. Those early years, all those created synapses having to do with boxing related stuff, you know, that's a thing. a thing that carries big advantages over late starters, it's like a physics expert walking into a 101 algebra class. starting from age 1 is why he's like he is. same reason Ward is so good from his last loss at age 9. he learned from that tragedy and applied himself to transform it into power. how does he say it, "Put money in the bank" talkin about practicing punches. I like his ideology.
But it's a big respectful thing that he still won't fight Pac in his current state, even with that extra knowledge from childhood. He ain't scared, he's waiting for the army in the next valley to get chopped down by archers, or in this case, time? Pac has changed up his rhythm on that cross and will be able to nail the full power one easier, since he has more bluffable crosses that he's practiced, that arent his real money cross. we'll see him feinting more too, but he's all about the attack, it's why he falls short on top. defense first always wins on teh world level. thats why ruiz is so dangerous, he can leap backwards and counter with a lead left hook or uppercut. that ability to leap back and throw a looping punch from the core is something im lucky to also have
just dont have the timing to whack anyone good with it yet. never used it in a fight retreating as a counter.
I'm not a Pacquaio fanboy. I'm a fight fan and consider myself a combat purist, and think it'd be hard to dislike him unless he personally did a loved one wrong. His spirit is very high right now, it's not a super common thing to see in boxing! Running around like Mini-Ali in Manila with the tribe behind him. I mean, Keith went up against Porter and did quite well, and I rate Porter higher than Pacquaio. It's that veteran instinct and fighting blood sniffing whoop your ass style that Pacquaio employs once he nails you good that separates him from the rest. Wilder is similar, except his shots are all looping from wide weird angles because of his larger body. But he has a similar killer instinct, you could see it more when he was coming up through the ranks blowing the guys outta there. He's getting more experienced now and with that comes composure - but before I Lose my own, lets get back to pac- I think he gets Deebo'd by Porter on the ropes because I bet Porter's old man works Porter harder than Pac in the types of ways that allow porter to get off power shots on teh ropes.
Pac is faster at 40 now than Zab Judah was when he took out Spinks in St Louie, and I thought when Zab turned it on, he looked reeeal fast back then. this speed we seein from pacquaio is some transcendent superhuman next level evolutionary **** that makes me happy to be alive.
