Fernando explains to his fans reason behind loss

"People are saying, ¿What happened?' because they know that wasn't me up there. I have to explain it."

The explanation — he was done in by his effort to make weight — may not be a huge surprise. But the extreme efforts to reach 154 pounds, even while proclaiming himself in control of the effort, would seem to do much to illuminate his slow, sluggish effort.

Pecora said a withdrawal from the fight was discussed earlier in training, but Vargas said he never considered it in the final hours, and not just because of the inevitable lawsuits.

In my opinion he has known that he cant make weight for years, he took this fight for the money and should just shut up instead of making excuses.

Technically he did come in training camp 40 pounds over weight. He was killing himself to make weight since fighting Winky Wright. But my feeling is this.. He can't make excuses.

The real reason he lost is,because Vargas is a good fighter, but Mosley is an elite fighter. And if the Vargas nuthuggers want to make excuses, they need to validate their excuse. Its just like the Tarver vs. Hopkins fight most people blame the weight loss. When Jones lost everybody said he was done. See its all the matter of nuthuggin.

As expected, an excuse arises. Vargas just does not have it anymore and won't make it at a higher weight class as well. I'm just waiting for Ferocity to come on here and say Vargas really would whoop Mosely if.......

I actually believe him that the weight loss is what made him look so sluggish. He still would have been beaten by the better fighter though, maybe not as bad.
