Comments Thread For: Payano: Luis Nery Is In For The The Worst Beating Of His Career!

Juan Carlos Payano knew his night was over the moment Naoya Inoue crashed home a right hand flush on his chin in their World Boxing Super Series quarterfinals last October. He also sensed many would believe his career to be through as well, which in an odd way would finally make it easier to land more meaningful fights.

There is only one out there that can legitimately keep Nery from everything and we will see the showdown soon enough. They call that one "Monster". I like Nery and want to see him succeed. Unfortunately, a phenom from Japan happens to be in his division. Payano was a fool to try and comeback against the "Pantera"! Imagine how much his phone will be ringing July 21st.

To be fair let him first face the loser of the Monster/Flash showdown before the winner face him. Nery skipped the tournament and the winner should not be his prize

Absolutely right. Donaire earned this shot and deserves it. Won't put anything past Flash. Maybe experience can tame a monster..

Nery doesn't even bring a belt to the equation. He's WBC Silver champ but Takuma is interim champ so he'll have to wait on Oubaali who'd probably fight both Inoue's for both career progression and monetary reasons. Great marketing to be made out of that. Nery alone not so much. Plus unification is on all these top guys' minds atm.
