Charlo, Andrade, Brant wouldn't be in their rankings cos they hold belts under different orgs you fool. Lemieux is moving to super middleweight. Derevyanchenko is #1 because he fought a mandatory eliminator against a tough and game Jack Culcay. Stop complaining, the IBF is the only somewhat respectable sanctioning body.

... but the biggest flaw of all those "sanctioning bodies" is that the don't rank at all the belt holders in "other orgs"... which is absolutely ******...Comment

Yeah that's a problem they all share so there can be loads done for that but I reckon they don't want to have to try and rank other belt holders lower than they'd like as it doesn't suit the endless platitudes required to grease up boxing politicians.Comment

well.... that sure does sound like a legit way to have the best fighters in the world competing for your title..... doesn't it?Comment

but, you said the IBF were... " somewhat respectable " ?
kidding, I know what you mean
like MDPopescu said..... if you do not rank the best fighters in the world, then ordering a mandatory is highly unlikely to be the best outcome for boxingComment

Plus, fighting for the WBA/WBC/WBO doesn’t require the same day weigh in.
If they started ranking other champions, and champions don’t fight for the vacant IBF belt for reasons outlined above, it would make the IBF look second rate. Unfortunately, until we rid the world of the WBA/WBC/WBO, the IBF rankings will sufferComment

Promoters will always opt for titles they can manipulate

Canelo will vacate
the IBF will order Golovkin/Derevyanchenko
Golovkin will win
the IBF will order Golovkin/Szeremeta..... (a real guy, ranked right behind Golovkin)
Golovkin will vacate
* sigh *

Hell they would if they could but the legal precedent would be too much to handle. You basically need the IBF to become the one legit belt to allow it to become the best beyond a doubt.Comment
-
but, they can't..... so, they shouldn't
ordering Canelo/Derevyanchenko killed MUCH better fights
they are the little engine that could..... except, they can't
if you have nothing good to say, then keep your mouth shut
it is better to keep your mouth shut, at the risk of looking like a fool..... rather than opening it, and removing all doubt
the IBF look like fools, stepping in the way of Canelo/Golovkin, Andrade, Charlo, Smith, Kovalev..... to insist that Derevyanchenko is a better opponentComment
