Do not get me wrong, I am NOT a Joshua fan; but, his win over Wlad proves that he has at least some boxing fundamentals. No matter how old Wlad was.

Really? did you read the list of excuses Kov had for Ward, if anything Kovalev is a typical bully fighter, that will crumble to anyone that can stand up to him, and give it back. AJ is a technical power puncher/boxer that admits his short commings in that fight. If anything he has a much better base to get back to where he was.

Just by the nature of how burned out and complacent he looked after was waved off, I think he needs at least a year to disappear.
It reminds me of Elvis. He had been burned out for years when it finally caught up to his professionalism. His handlers pushed him too hard and had him spread too far out, trying to collect every dollar possible in entertainment market.
That's like Joshua. He has too many yes men and influencers around him. No one is going to "see" where he's slipping. At this level you need one trainer who can intimately observe his craft. Like how Fury has Davidson or Pacquiao with Roach.

On the other hand Joshua is like a battleship. The DAZN battleship. Joshua has a rematch clause. It would be a VERY weak move to not take the opportunity to set him back on top. Unless Joshua is a lifer like Mayweather, there isn't much room outside of Ruiz to carve out a comeback career. Fury and Wilder aren't going to throw him a bone if he avoids the rematch. Joshua is a company man just like Canelo, Fury and Wilder are in their own way. Nothing wrong with that. It just means he's going to have to comeback this year and take care of business.

Let's be honest, I don't think Foreman has the infrastructure to promote Joshua like Hearn. Although man is Foreman the archetype for how Joshua should adapt his style too. Not completely, I mean Joshua is an exceptional boxer puncher in his own right. Just with the bull dozing, flex on the smaller guy perspective Foreman had.
