... I didn't have anything against AJ up to this fight... I thought he was "for real"...

... but starting with the 2nd round Ruiz tactically dominated him... the punch on the ear in the 3rd round wasn't an "accident"... Ruiz didn't get "distressed" by the KD and he followed his game plan...

(Ruiz started boxing at 7-8 yo, while Joshua at 18 yo)...

There isn't a dominant heavyweight out there despite what records show. Joshua needs a rematch with Ruiz immediately. George Foreman is wrong. Joshua has flaws in his game. His stock as a fighter will drop if Ruiz loses to the next guy....And there's a good chance that Ruiz will lose to the next guy. That's why so many "next" guys are calling Ruiz out. Ruiz has flaws in his game too. Joshua needs to be the next guy. His plan should be to secure the immediate rematch, hope for a win, and then work on improving his skills. This is the only way he can keep his stock from further dropping. There are no Alis, no Tysons, no Holyfields, no Foremans at the moment. In this current climate: Any heavyweight can lose just like that.

Mybe Joshua's long-term career doesn't need an immediate rematch, but his pride seems to need it.
For his sake I hope that pride will drive him to do his homework more diligently, get the hard sparring done with a few weeks left to go before the fight, and leave the technical sparring until the end.

If Foreman actually beleived Joshua was the goods then he would encourage AJ to Fight Ruiz jr. next.. Everyone in the Sport is saying Not to fight Andy next,, maybe thats what being a great fighter is all about?
So if AJ is so great why is the whole fight game advising him to rebuild?

And he simply had an off-night. All the greats had off nights. Foreman himself talks about how he felt drained and tired before he even got in the ring in Xaire against Ali. it happens.

Almost ALL the great champions lose at one time or another. It might be a cliché - but it's how A.J responds after this loss that will define his legacy.

����*♂️����*♂️ Kinda expected this to be Foreman’s opinion on the matter. He showed with actions that by taking some time (10 years off) you can refine your skills and still display greatness. Let’s not forget Foreman took a year off following his defeat to Ali, and came back and beat Ron Lyle in a FOTY. He also beat Frazier again by KO. Yet he still lost by DEC to Jimmy Young. He understood very well that you just can’t put a bandaid on this boxing chit and think you’ll still be as dominant. He is simply advising AJ from personal experience. Could AJ’s career arc play out differently? Of course, but he is playing a dangerous game rushing to get ALL those belts back at one time. His greatness won’t be defined by that loss or the rematch, it’s his career. No matter what his tunnel vision minded team is telling him. There are sharks circling in the HW division. I hope he identifies this and moves accordingly.

I have faith in Joshua.if he does take the rematch it will be a easy win this time around.more time to prepare and he knows what to expect.and he will take Ruiz seriously this time.
