Why do Americans act like boxing is an American sport?

The UK would never have it on lock unless a promoter would start signing fighters like GGG/Lomachenko/etc and having them fight there. The HW division was certainly on lock in the UK a few years back and they were able to get some big fights like Brook/GGG, but it still mainly consisted of UK fighters. For decades and decades, almost all the big name fighters end up fighting in America. I mean look at the biggest UK fighters from the 90s on tell me which one didn't come over and fight majority of their last fights in America? LIS, until UK promoters start signing foreign fighters and having them fight primarily in the UK, then it will be just par for course. More of the same.

Boxing is prize fighting and boxers go where the money is.

Say with the hype/money in the British boxing scene a couple of years ago, DAZN decided to set up shop in the UK and not the US, all those boxers would be fighting in the UK right now.

Where the money is yet it was pretty much just domestic fighters in the UK? Nah, sorry the UK never had boxing on lock. Again, the HW division? I am an American but I know my boxing history and the sport started in England. The English and Irish brought boxing to America and America became very good at boxing. I just root for boxers I like based on how they fight and what they are like as a person. I don't care where they live and don't favor American boxers over others. I like lots of English boxers. My favorite is Callum Smith. I think he is the best at 168 unless Bivol could beat him since Bivol says he can go to 168. If an American fights and Englishman I just root for the boxer I like the most and it might be the Englishman.

The UK had it on lock from like 2016 and if DAZN hadn’t set up shop in the US, the sport would’ve stayed in its natural habitat in the UK. DAZN effed up.

Eastern European countries are mostly 3rd world countries and it’s understandable why they would move to the US for greener pastures. 2 years ago, all the top boxers were dreaming of fighting in Wembley, until DAZN dropped the bag in the US.
