Fielding was a cherry pick because he had a title. Canelo could of fought any number of second tier fighters at 168 but Fielding was selected because he had a title. Calling it a "tune up secondary trinket" is like putting lipstick on a pig. When your done it's still a pig.

When Canelo beat Fielding it’s obvious Fielding wasn’t the main WBA Champ. Canelo will eventually fight one. That’s why I said, the Tune Up is no different than Ward getting acclimated to 175 against Brand.

The diva's finally getting around to fighting after giving up his regular Sept.fight, which is the biggest fight date of the year and his county's major holiday.
All of this was to avoid a third fight with Golovkin. Even his team was embarrassed when, after guaranteeing the fans a 3rd fight, the diva started with his lame excuses like Golovkin should "get a belt" or "I don't like him".
Now's it, "I beat him twice", which even the diva knows is BS.
You would think Canelo vacating his title in 2016 in order to avoid fighting GGG, would have been enough humiliation for one career, but it seems the diva is just a glutton for punishment.

The Cranelo-GGG hypocrisy continues to be absolutely insane.

When coronavirus first delayed Canelo-BJS, this is what Eddie Hearn had to say about that fight and the two scheduled GGG fights.

“Canelo wants to fight Billy Joe before he fights Golovkin, and Golovkin wants to fight [Kamil] Szeremeta before he fights Canelo,” said Hearn to IFL TV.

No one cared.

Probably because it makes sense to take the fights that were signed to happen first before moving on to the next one.

Then IFL TV asks Banks if GGG would skip Szeremeta to fight Canelo right away. He says no and everyone loses their mind.

I wonder why?

Here’s my guess. When Canelo fans thought both fighters wanted an interim fight before the trilogy happened, nothing was wrong. But when the narrative shifted to only GGG wants a fight before the trilogy, he’s all of a sudden a p***y and he’s ducking, etc. etc.
