When it did become popular and acceptable in boxing to use "I don't like that guy" as an excuse not to fight someone? Throughout boxing history, and in every other walk of life, not liking someone is something that causes people to WANT to fight that person, not AVOID fighting them.
So this is either a bull**** excuse to duck, or it's ridiculous. This truly is the diva, scaredycat era of boxing.Comment

Skipper sniffed too much powder when he gave the bum, GGG, that ridiculous contract. This is what happens when you let a cokehead run a company.
Honestly, the money DAZN is paying Canelo looks huge as a lumpsum. However, Canelo can make that money in less fights on PPV. GGG on the other hand has never been a big draw like that and at age 37, why pay him that kind of money and give him shares?Comment

Uber is too. Amazon was for a long time. ESPN was for the first couple years. This is just how sh^t works for a company making a big & often global play.
Idk why people keep acting like DAZN is a mom & pop store that isn't gonna be able to buy products for next month if it doesn't produce a profit this early on.
DAZN is gonna have to spend much bigger money then it has so far to run sh^t. The NBA or NFL aint cheap.
(... and you can't compare DAZN to Amazon or Uber -- totally different industries. One could compare DAZN to Netflix at most...)Comment

I understand and can see your point of view but being this cashcow very young has worked for him in more ways than just money.
I know he probably didn't ask for it but I hope he doesn't expect it from now on.
I like Nelo as a fighter but you have to admit by being around the likes of Oscar and Sulimuin he's not exactly giving off a positive attitude.
Couple that with Oscar's cringey bullshyt (lest we forget how long he did everything possible to keep Canelo away from Golovkin), the fact that Canelo got embarrassed in the first fight, I find myself wanting to be distant from that whole pony show. Canelo is a solid fighter but he sure AF ain't this messiah people are trying to paint him to be. ***, he's a whole step below Loma and Crawford so IDK why he's worshiped like he's a once in a generation fighter.Comment

I used to defend ("all the time") the likes of Sergio Martinez, Rigondeuax, Bradley, Maidana, Figueroa Jr, Crawford, "Rougarou", Spence, and (as of lately) Ruiz... One defends what one likes and/or understands... That's it...Comment

DAZN already gave Golovkin a whopping $14.5 million to face the unknown, unproven Rolls in what was supposed to amount to a tune-up for a third fight against Alvarez. Skipper can’t give Golovkin another overmatched opponent, yet the former ESPN president also will try to be careful about not getting Golovkin knocked off by someone such as Andrade.
Golovkin clearly could beat Andrade as well. If Andrade defeated Golovkin, however, it would be almost impossible to go back to that third Alvarez-Golovkin fight, the foremost reason Skipper committed more than $100 million to a 37-year-old boxer.Comment

Agreed. It's really weird for me as I spent a lot of time preaching about Canelo's unappreciated skills, and I honestly believed his failed test was due to Mexican beef. But, the f@gg0try going on around here is disgusting. Grown men saying that because he's popular (aka "A-side") he should get everything catered to him. Dudes are literally following and defending him because he's the most popular. They're playing the role of high school girls.
