Comments Thread For: Haney-Abdullaev Title Eliminator Targeted For 9/13 In Las Vegas

Devin Haney is ready for a homecoming-with or without the benefit of being part of a Saul Canelo' Alvarez fight week. Plans remain on course for the unbeaten lightweight contender to return to the ring on September 13 in his adopted Las Vegas hometown for his next fight. Barring a drastic change in plans, it will come versus Russia's Zaur Abdullaev in a lightweight title eliminator.

On deadzone? Too bad no one will see it. Sounds like a good one for the firestick

This will make Haney mandatory to Lomachenko. Nice!

Everybody seems to be trying to slow down the weight gain on all these young men. I don't remember things always being this way? Maybe because there wasn't "Jr." this, and "Jr." that, in every weight class? Maybe it's just me?

Good fight, real test for both challengers, will be Abdullaev's debut in US so he should bring it and try to impress
Haney actually can get there first, while Commey will fight Lopez, Loma can fight Haney in December

Who the fook is that guy boxrec breakdown.

                  Zaur Abdullaev.

                  25 years old.

                  11-0 (7).

4-0 (3) vs opponents with losing or even records.

7-0 (4) vs opponents with winning records.

Apparently fought in the WSB although I'm having trouble pulling up those results at the moment.

This will be his 1st fight outside of Russia.

He's been 12 rounds twice already.

Best W is Henry Lundy (29-6-1).

DAZN has been having an incredible run since March.

As far as Haney -- for his sake, I'm hoping they move him up before he gets embarrassed by Loma.
