Comments Thread For: Thurman is Confident Pacquiao Fight Will Live Up To The Hype

Keith Thurman didn't even need to hear the full undercard lineup to learn what he already believed all along; that his July 20 showdown with Manny Pacquiao is the biggest boxing night of 2019. The unbeaten welterweight titlist puts his title and perfect record on the line versus the legendary Filipino southpaw in a highly anticipated Fox Sports Pay-Per-View event at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The stacked card extends all the way down to a preceding primetime Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Fox lead-in telecast featuring undefeated 168-pound titlist Caleb Plant in the first defense versus unbeaten challenger Mike Lee.

How dare they fail to mention Omar Figueroa Jr. vs. Yordenis Ugas? That's the cherry on top!

... Thurman: "doing to him what he was able to do to Oscar de la Hoya.”

ODLH fought Pac at 145 (a weight that Oscar didn't fight since 11 years back...)... Therefore not a good comparison, imo...

What hype? There's none. This fight will flop big time. It's far from PPV worthy.

I love the Figueroa Brothers! Always entertaining! I think I like them as much, if not more, than the Charlo Brothers!

Run-time will turn it into a snoozer for sure!!! Any great classic memories from Thurman v Porter or Garcia....uneventful and zero drama in both. Run-Time will get on his bike and play it safe in hopes of another decision win.

Spence-Garcia wasn’t even competitive. This fight between Manny Pacquio and myself, I don’t see how it won’t live up to the hype.”

Ummmm Keef your fight with Pacquiao SHOULDN'T be competitive either. I mean seriously you're in your prime fighting a 40 something guy who is passed his prime. If you're as good as you say you are you should dominate. I'm not knocking Keef but I'm just pointing out that if he wants to be the man he can't struggle especially when Pac "lost" to Jeff Horn. Just saying.
