He’s probably still on bail while his case is ongoing. If it was resolved, I think he’d have a fight scheduled.... he’s been in the gym with that guy who beat Alexander last month

Floyd did the right thing. This is a fight. Protect yourself at all times. As much as what I saw didn't sit right with me, rules are rules.

it's not a fight at all times though. thats the problem. for example if floyd had punched ortiz between the break in rounds you wouldnt say hey its a fight supposed to protect yourself and thats essentially what happened because time had not been officially started yet or if it had cortez didnt know. you can hear him ask the question "time in?" while looking at the timekeeper. he also said lets go right before that so i can understand the confusion on everyones part since he's such an incompetent hack. if he was a good ref he would have made sure time was in first and then said lets go but he decided to do it backwards like a mush brain. in reality it should have been a NC but its floyd so what do you expect?

they were never going to dq floyd just like they didnt when his trainer entered the ring and assaulted zab. if ortiz had ko'd floyd during that moment when ortiz was looking at the timekeeper does the win stand for ortiz...imo no but we will never know because thats the whole dynamic. floyd opponents have to walk on eggshells while floyd knows he can do whatever he wants. is time in? maybe!

I have to agree with you on that. That's why I didn't like what happened, but what else could have been done? Especially with so much $$ at stake. If Ortiz did that it would have been a DQ no doubt. Nevertheless Floyd acted like a fighter in that moment. Too bad he didn't act like a fighter in rounds 11 and 12 against Manny. Up until that moment Ortiz was doing pretty good. We all know though Floyd would have taken over during the last half of the fight. Floyd may have been denied a chance to win big in a pretty good fight. Instead we paid big bucks for that crap ending.
