Why Was Naseem Hamed Stripoed Of His MBE?

For those that don't know Naseem Hamed was awarded the MBE award, a British title (member of the British order), but was Stripped of this some time in 2002 for speeding and getting into a crash and serving jail time....

    For Brits on here:

    1. Don't you think this was too harsh since it went to court and he paid compensation and it wasn't intentional and is this normal to get your MBE stripped for a driving offence?

    2. Do you think it had more to do with how vocal he became about his religion and 9/11 just happening a year before?

    Not trolling....genuinely curious

People get stripped for any criminal offence.

Fred Goodwin has been stripped of his knighthood in what the government has called an "exceptional case". But who else have lost their honours?

crash was in 2005 not 2002.

And he was stripped because he embarrassed all of England with that embarrassing beating he took that basically sent him in retirement and England was still very salty about it for not at least attempting to regain some honor for England by re-matching Barrera.

Had nothing to do with his religion or 9/11.

speeding is not usually about intent, its about lack of intent to keep your speed down.

he was stripped in 2007 after the crash, thats fine and true. Though they feel zero need to strip jimmy saville, thats way more odd.

He got stripped after more and more people watched the old footage of the Barrera fight and realised he should have never been an MBE in the first place. In all seriousness though, who cares whether someone is an obe,mbe or sir etc? Talk about feeding the ego's of these morons.

Who gives a f*** about an MBE.

Cromwell said it best in 1657.

Yeah, Phillip Green comes to mind too. Seems absurd to keep hearing the talking heads still refer to him as "Sir Philip".. 🙄

LOL and Cromwell's legacy = zero since the Monarchy went right back up on the throne.

Yeah he’s had no impact on ridding Britain of the oppressive “divine right of king” and absolute monarchy. Cromwell played a major role in a constitutional agreement that still remains poignant in modern times. I don’t know whether you’ve realised but this country is now governed by a parliamentary democracy under a constitutional monarchy. This ain’t Saudi Arabia...

                    No legacy though eh...
