Wy did I pick those two? Kovalev has the name at 175, and Zurdo is Mexican as Canelo. If those two were out of the picture, I can see Canelo more reluctant to face any other champion who haven't been in many wars as Kovalev.

Kovalev is old and well past prime and can just barely make 175. His chin is not that good anymore. I think Canelo will try to drain Kovalev with a catchweight and a 2nd morning weigh in. Canelo says he won't fight a Mexican. Canelo has not said the names of the three young undefeated light heavyweight champions because he will never fight them. Bivol made it clear he would gladly drop to 168 to fight Canelo yet Oscar and team Canelo speak only of Kovalev and not Bivol or the other young champs. It's obvious they think Kovalev is the one they can beat in Vegas if they can get him to agree to be drained for a big payday.

      Canelo would son Bivol too.

Beterbiev and Gvozdyk would get schooled boxing-wise as well but they are big, strong 175 overs. Might be able to take 5 punches from Canelo to land one of their own.

Reynoso’s are cool with Zurdo. Zurdo used to be part of Team Canelo as a sparring buddy. That’s why Canelo is the bonafide goods. Zurdo used to do Ring Walks with Team Canelo. I think even Cintron if I recall. You can find sparring of Canelo Zurdo on YouTube as far back as 2011.
