Boxing is dead in the UK right now. Since networks in America are throwing crazy money around, majority of the top Brits are fighting stateside for the moment. Seriously, tell me how many top fighters are fighting in the UK? Even guys like BJS and Frampton will be fighting more in the states now.

It’s bad. I just seen them two shows then and was like damn! It’s so bad over here atm.

Fair play to BT though, at least they’re giving us some decent shows in Warrington-Galahad and Dubois-Gorman.

Hearn has addressed this in a recent interview.
He says Matchroom and Sky will be increasing their investment in their shows starting in September.

        Here's hoping.

We’ve heard that all before though. I remember in 2017 he said something along the lines of he wants every fight night to be headlined by a world title fight.

Since the start of 2018 Sky have shown one UK based world title fight which was not on PPV and it was Edwards-Moreno.

If their PPV’s and ticket sales are doing as well as Hearn claims, why isn’t the money being re-invested?
          It’s either lies or greed...

Damn true indeed there's only been the one world title fight in the UK and the one world title fight that MTK have on their cards is being shown in Kazakhstan which is just... Obscure.

Sky have shown 1 UK based world title fight in 18 months considering they charge £25+ a month for Sky Sports that’s disgusting IMO. If it wasn’t for the Premier League and NBA content I’d cancel my subscription. The only decent fights they show are on PPV but why should we pay for average fights like Whyte-Rivas when the money they are making is not being re-injected back into the sport. I don’t mind paying for PPV’s if it results in better content, for instance after HBO made a huge profit on May-Pac they re-invested back into the sport by giving the US fans Canelo on non PPV. Sky never do stuff like that.

BT have been a little better showing 8 UK based world title fights in the last 18 months (6 discounting interim titles) and have also been making more competitive main events like Catterall-Davies, Dubois-Gorman. But even they are putting some ridiculous fights on PPV like Fury-Schwarz and Crawford-Khan on PPV.

ITV seem to put anything uk based on PPV...

MTK have a much lower budget compared to Sky or BT and there cards are streamed for free so I have no issue with what they’re are putting out tbh.

Eddie has always just chased the money.

I’ve always maintained there’s much more money in the states. The US market is just far bigger, it always has been and always will be.

The decline in UK shows started before Hearn went stateside.

Sky are a complete shambles and their UK brand rests on Dillian Whyte's shoulders alone at this point, although I forgot they have Callum Smith who has great star potential. BT have done a decent job but none of their title fights were all that great bar Warrington-Frampton and Fury-Wilder which actually did pretty poorly in the end. I really dig MTK's gig so I can't really complain just wished I could go to watch it much easier to go to the UK than Kazakhstan for me as I'm in Ireland so it's unfortunately an opportunity missed to see Oubaali at work live. He's pretty exciting, was a top amateur for sure and doing well in the pros. I follow the lower weight classes a lot as a I'm between strawweight and flyweight myself, they may seem like fringe fighters to you but some of those guys are the real deal too and go under the radar too much except for 115 and 118 at the moment. Figured it'd be a really good show.
