Kovalev don't wanna get KTFO. Specifically now since Canelo's been spitting his name. I'd avoid all the more proven guys myself if I was Kovalev at this point in his career. Thats the smart move. Hell I'm kinda feeling like avoiding Yarde might be smart, but idk if he can do that. I'd be trying to offer him a step aside & trying to get Canelo still if I was him doe. Thats the mfing move. Yarde, Beterbiev or whoever isn't Canelo-caliber.

          I agree. Good post.

I like Kovalev but at this point he's worn out and a KO waiting to happen. Canelo fight would be God sent. It'll set him for life. His retirement fight.

I don't think Canelo will short change him, or drain him even more, either. It'll be a great fight, considering all the variables.

            LOL.

Does he have mileage? Yes... but I don't think he is worn out... especially if he stops treating his body like **** with drinking and partying.

Kovalev is still far better than Gvozdyk and Beterbiev.

Bivol will be a tougher fight.

Kovalev has never run away from a challenge and even said after Alvarez he wants to unify with anyone....

Beterbiev NOW calls him out when he has a deal signed for mandatory with Yarde and Canelo is calling his name.

Beterbiev is just trying to get some attention from Kovalev being mentioned.... he perfectly well knows Kovalev CANNOT take the fight at the moment.

              Your post is good, too.

The thing is, Canelo is a body specialist, and Kovalev hates it to the body. That's why I give Canelo a good chance. Despite giving up 15 pounds to him, Canelo is still the better boxer.

The only one at lightheavy who I'd be confident to beat Kovalev is Beterbiev, on sheer strength and determination. The rest of the other Eastern Euros at this division I'm not sold on yet. Not even saying Beterbiev that good.

Canelo is the better boxer. Not even close. I like how Kovalev was boxing at his prime, plus his strength. Now he's out of it.

No one is going to convince me that Kovalev is a better boxer than Canelo.... NO ONE... not especially this version of Canelo who is almost Mayweather-like in his game, over this version of Kovalev. Yes kov was amazing in his rematch of the Alvarez fight, where he actually listened to his inner self and box to a game plan, but we don’t see that Kovalev that often.
