Comments Thread For: Klitschko: I'm at Peace With My Decision To Stop Boxing

Former unified heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has made it clear that he's got no intention of returning to the ring. In the last few months, Klitschko's name was linked to a potential multi-fight deal with streaming service DAZN. Klitschko, 43-years-old, retired back in 2017 - when he was stopped by Anthony Joshua before a crowd of 90,000 at Wembley Stadium in London.

I can respect that. I'm glad he's happy and content with his decision. Hopefully we'd have more Klitschko's that hang them up at the right time.

"that loss was regarded by most experts as one of the best performances of Klitschko's entire career"

Those guys must really hate him... If you clean out boxing's flagship division for 10+ yrs, literally run out of opponents, and their highest rated performance is you getting knocked out in slop brawl at age 40... lol

Seeing him show heart while losing to a good fighter was better than seeing him dominate against a bunch of bums.

He's 43. That's the right decision, for sure.

I hope he does well with his new ventures and takes good care of the money he's earned - although I also hope he decides to stick to dry land for a while, it seems like Wlad and seawater aren't a good mix.

Wlad was too old against Fury nevermind returning at this age. Agree he showed heart against AJ and that was the perfect way to retire. Loves how he controlled boxing for 10 years beating all the up and comers. He and his brother were so good that boxing became boring.

He’ll be back. They always come back until they get beaten into retirement.

Bet he wished he'd jumped on Joshua after seeing the Ruiz fight instead of playing it cautious after he knocked him down
