Ishe Smith: "I was supposed to get $11k for Randall Bailey, only got $3k"

    Context for those not woke:

Smith fought Bailey when Bailey was still a dangerous puncher but was starting to show cracks in his game and Smith was still fresh to the game. It remains arguably Ishe Smith's biggest win. Smith would take Bailey the distance and win fairly comfortably in somewhat of an ugly chessmatch.

Didn’t he have a contract stipulating how much he would get?

At that time? I doubt it. More likely someone negotiated the fight for him and screwed him over. He was only 3-4 years pro at that time.

I remember him talking about that on Contender. It was for a bunch of secondary titles and each had a sanctioning fee.

Sad that stuff like this is still happening. Just like Benard Hopkins made $11.23 for his match against Roy Jones. That was so sad.
